Hey friends! I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy.
Today’s post is exactly what the title suggests. A list of happy things.
Unless you live under a rock or are of alien species, then you probably know that the world in general just isn’t doing all that great right now.
Life is tough. There’s a lot to be sad about.
But there’s also a lot of happy things too.
I, being an individual of singular creativity and imagination, decided that the only logical thing to do, would be to think up as many happy things as I possibly could.
Naturally, this list grew quite extensive, so for the sake of time and sanity, I have shortened the list to 8 Things That I Am Currently Enjoying. (shout out to Jenna Terese who has similar posts to this one and from whom I may or may not have stolen the idea.)
Without farther ado, let us begin.
I LOVE SPRING.
The grass all soft and green, the trees getting their leaves back, the flowers blooming, the sunshine warm against your face and the sky clear blue without a cloud in sight.
Unfortunately, where I live, the weather has been rather…um…confused of late. A couple weeks ago, it was hitting the seventies, warm and sunshiny. Two days later it was snowing. Hard. I’m not kidding. The following days it rained. And now it’s warm again.
Grrr. *bangs head against desk*
PLEASE WEATHER MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!
Hopefully spring is here to stay. (I for one do not appreciate snow in May.)
I was a little skeptical when I first heard about them, but I decided to go ahead and get one any way.
And I’m so INCREDIBLY glad I did.
I bought mine from Amazon and it’s a m a z i n g. It’s super soft, snug but breathable, just the right weight and length and SO COZY. It’s like a hug, guys, a hug. *sighs with happiness*
These things are life changers, y’all.
Why was not reading his poetry years ago?
Just listen to this:
The rain to the wind said
‘You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged–though not dead
I know how the flowers felt.
(Lodged by Robert Frost)
I’m crying. How is it so beautiful?!
It’s just so wonderful. ❤️❤️❤️
ZACHERY BRUNO MUSIC
I could listen to his solo piano pieces on repeat for years.
I listen to his music when I’m feeling stressed, when I’m feeling happy, and when I just need something soothing.
(It also makes phenomenal background noise for while you’re writing.😊)
She’s always my favorite. 😜
Sending it, receiving it, I LOVE IT ALL.
I used to send mail religiously when I was a child but stopped a couple years ago.
I am happy to announce that I have since picked it up again! It’s such a wonderful, happy thing and has enriched my life so much!!
Is there anything more lovely then pulling an envelope from the mailbox addressed to you, decorated and handwritten by a friend hundreds of miles away, their love and friendship splashed all over it?
My sister gave me some for Christmas and I strung them up against the ceiling of my bedroom. The warm, soft glow they emit creates such an atmosphere of coziness and peace. THEY’RE SO WONDERFUL.
Want to add some cozy touches to your room? Need a little more sparkle in your life? Your back porch look too drab? Want to scare away the Grinch?
GET SOME STRING LIGHTS! They’ll lighten up your life.
(wow, I really missed my calling in life as a salesperson.)
I never realized that drawing little elephants could be so fun!
Because of the virus, I’ve been spending lots of time at home which has allowed me to pursue my creative interests more fully. Like writing and drawing and learning guitar. (the last thing is more of a I’m-dreaming-about-learning-guitar then a I’m-actually-learning-guitar sort of deal. *cough, cough*)
Anyways, I’ve recently re-discovered the joys of sitting down and drawing little happy things just for the fun of it. It’s quite relaxing.
Why did I choose eight? A random number, I know, but I ran out of time, so this post was short. (the consequences of not planning ahead.)
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this peek into some of the things I’ve been loving recently and that it will inspire you to look for things in your own life that bring you joy!
